I finally hit the jackpot!!
Our office always has one thing or another going on. There are always raffles and football pools. The money usually goes to support our chosen charity of the March of Dimes. I like to play from time to time, but as of yet have never won.
All that has now changed, I won two tickets! I can’t believe that it’s finally happened. I won two tickets to the big monster truck rally that is scheduled for next month. I can’t wait to go and am looking forward to letting everyone know how it went. I’ll see you at the track!

Every once in awhile I do something that’s a little bit embarrassing, the other day I went to work and everything was as usual. I went outside on my lunch break as I often do and sat in my truck to read. It was nice and warm out I was soon relaxed.
The next thing I knew, Susan was knocking on my window. She asked if I was going to return to work or sit out here and sleep the day away. I was so embarrassed about the whole thing and had to walk back into work to the cheers and jeers of my co-workers. I guess I’ll have to wait until someone else does something dumb so the heat will be off of me!

A friend of mine from the “old neighborhood” is celebrating her birthday today. I gave her a call to wish her a happy birthday and as we talked a bit, I was surprised when she told me that she has been working on a blog, too. So I checked out her blog today and decided to bookmark it so I can read it regularly. I might even subscribe to her RSS feed, but I’m not really sure how all that works.
Anyway, if you happen to be reading this, Donna, I hope you had a wonderful birthday today and I am looking forward to reading your blog.

You’re never really ready for when it finally happens. My son was caught skipping school today. It turns out that he had spent the day over at some girl’s house playing video games. The worst part is that I dropped him off at the bus stop myself!
I gave him the what for and put him on restriction. He will have to serve detention at the school as well. I guess that will be punishment enough. I was sort of proud of the boy and remembered that I had done the same when I was young! I was also glad to find that he was with a girl!! Boys grow up!

One place I like to visit is the library. I am lucky as there is one right on the way home. I usually stop in about once a week to find some new books to read. Sometimes I will stay for awhile and just enjoy the quiet. Our library has a very nice atmosphere. I like the smell of all the old books and the nice little area where you can sit and read.
Sometimes I will take the kids with me when I go. I feel it is important that they develop a taste for reading. Reading will help them throughout their life and provide them with an excellent hobby. I hope they will take to reading as I have and turn it into a lifelong pleasure.
