China Strikes

July 10th, 2010

For years it seemed that cheap Chinese labor was putting U.S. workers in a bind. Jobs were shipped off to china as their labor force was working for pennies on the dollar. Some recent news is that this may be changing. Chinese workers are no longer happy working for nothing and are demanding higher wages and better working conditions.

Due to the new conditions, some companies are actually considering bringing jobs back to America and other cheaper countries. I am glad that the Chinese workers are getting higher pay and learning about their rights as workers. I hope this trend continues.

Printer Ink Blues!!

January 10th, 2010

These days, having a working printer is almost a necessity. There are many uses for having one to make things easy. The ability to print out directions or other documents quickly is an important part of modern life. The kids use it to print out their homework and other things for school.

What always bothers me is when it runs out of ink! This seems to happen far more than you would think be reasonable. I know the printer companies make a lot of their money from ink, but it would be nice if they thought of the average consumer a little more. Ink can be quite expensive and a hassle to find the right cartridge. I think the government should pass a law about ink cartridge abuses by companies who prey on the average user!

I Hate Pink

February 23rd, 2009

We had a rough day at work – they passed out “pink slips” to 6 people this morning. It was awful. When Darlene told me she was having to leave I almost cried. It’s not fair. I helped her carry a box of stuff to her car and then drive off to a husband already out of work and two little kids. I don’t know how they will get by without her paycheck.

Why did they wait until this morning to fire people? I can’t believe my friends and colleagues spent the weekend thinking everything was great and went shopping or whatnot and then come in Monday morning to find their job is gone. No more paycheck, no health insurance, no notice. It’s not fair.

Worry Stones & Pet Rocks

December 22nd, 2008

Remember the Pet Rocks and The Worry Stones that were so popular “back in the day” actually The Worry Stone was and still is a great product that a lot of people are still using today. I am constantly finding small rocks and stones that would be perfect to be used for these stress relief product, they usually find their way into my pocket but end up disappearing sooner or later. Maybe I should considering keeping all that I find – put them in a jar or something until I have a good amount and start marketing these wonderful little Worry Stones once again.

A thought to ponder.

Aleve is costing more and more

December 17th, 2008

I rely on the daily taking of 2 gel tabs of Aleve with breakfast each and every a.m. to help reduce the swelling and the pain that I have been dealing with all my life in my neck and knees, due to arthritis. I’ve tried so many different types of over the counter products and Aleve seems to provide me the most relief, I just wish they were not so expensive and they keep going up, just like everything else.

Even gas is starting to go up once again, a ten cent difference over night, doesn’t look good, I was wondering when that was going to happen. Maybe it is just because people are driving more due to the recent low prices and the demand is greater and so the prices go up, good grief what a pain all this is. I’m so totally sick and tired of it all and just want to get on with things and try and have a good holiday season with friends and family and hope for good things to come along with the New Year.
