Cleanup
Ever since the giant oil spill by the oil company BP, there has been a debate on the amount of dispersant that was being used. Many have felt that the company relied too heavily on it and that the consequences of using it in such large quantities are unknown. Some members of congress are now taking a closer look at the subject.
One member of congress named Edward Markey from Massachusetts has railed against the practice and wants answers as to why they were allowed to use so much. The company had to get permission from the EPA to do so. I hope the practice of using dispersant will come under greater scrutiny in the future.

One thing I like to hear about the power of wind. I feel good that companies are finding it profitable to harness the power of the wing to provide energy for businesses and people. One such company is called Suncor Energy Inc and they are set to build a wind farm in Alberta, Canada. This is good news to me.
The farm will consist of 55 turbines that will power an estimated 35,000 homes. Now that they have the required permits, they hope to start construction soon. Suncor already owns 4 wind farms and is providing power to thousands of people. I say hurrah for this company and the good work they do!

Over the last several decades there has been a lot of talk about immigration reform. No matter what is said, nothing ever seems to be done about it. One recent item that brought the issue back into the spotlight is a new law in Arizona that allows reasonable searches of those suspected to be here illegally. Some worry that this will lead to racial profiling.
Many legal scholars believe that the law will be struck down as there are many precedents that stand against it. Nevertheless, supporters of the law dismiss any opposition saying there are measures in place to prevent abuse to illegals. Whatever happens to this single law, I think that politicians should provide the country with a practical solution to the problem.

When we moved in to our house, we had the chance to look over the workmanship and complain about things that were not right. One of those things was my garage door. It makes a terrible screeching sound as it opens! I don’t know what the problem is, but I wish it could be fixed.
I called the contractor numerous times and he always promised to come out but never has as of yet. I tried to fix it myself, but have had no luck. I can’t figure it out. Anyway, I’ll have to live with it for awhile until I can get the problem solved. It’s a shame to have to go through this!!

My boss has been impressed with my work and I think it’s high time I get paid for it. I hope that all the people who read my blog will have improvements to make of their own.
